AUBURN, Ala. - The intersection at East Thach Avenue and South Gay Street is expected to be closed on May 12 while Alabama Power completes aerial power maintenance for Auburn University's East Thach Residence Hall project. The work is scheduled from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The closure will include vehicle and pedestrian detours.

Vehicles and pedestrians traveling north and south should utilize Armstrong Street and South College Street. Vehicles and pedestrians traveling along east and west should utilize Miller Street and Magnolia Avenue.

Alabama Power has notified customers of the work and planned power outages.

Personnel, signage and control measures will be in place in the affected work area. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes to reduce delays.
